Very smart design! I really like that the lid screws onto the spool. It's easy to do and the two parts hold firmly.

It only takes round 65 grams of filament to print bigger spool with cover using following settings:
* variable layer height (OrcaSlicer: best quality, radius 3): from 0,1 mm around the the thread to 0,28 mm around the middle part
* 0,4 mm nozzle
* 4 perimeters
* 33 % infill (but there is almost none)

Thanks!

Works great to hold sample filament and is very easy to print.

Printed and fits very well despite my not-so-well tuned PCTG. Thanks! I needed the wider version for a 100g sample.

Fits together perfectly and the friction filament-end holder is a great touch.

Printed in eSun blue PLA. Pictured on the spool is about 75g of US Monofilaments maroon PLA. Great little spool that doesn't need much material to print. Don't over tighten the halves or the cover might split, though that's easy enough to repair with super glue. Edit to add: I printed it again in the maroon PLA and that one feels stronger, so the translucent pla might be to blame. (edited)

Excellent efficient lite weight practical usable spool holder! Thank you!

Excellent work! I've been able to free up a ton of room in my storage box that was previously taken up by full-size reels with ~10m on them! (edited)

Easy and relatively quick to print. The halves screw together easily and the 50ft samples from Paramount 3D fit nicely.

I've been using this for a few months for my Alien 3D samples ( https://www.alien3d.us/?ref=96). It's just the right size and works perfectly for me!

I've recently printed a second one from PETG, as my original PLA spool has worn down and lost it's ability to snap together over time, so I would recommend PETG to anybody looking to use this.

Just amazing, great design. Thanks!
