UPDI is the programming and debugging interface of the new ATtiny/ATmega series microcontrollers by Microchip. It is very versatile and a simple programer can be constructed with just one 4k7 resistor and a serial port.
Next to the de-facto Arduino boards definitions for these new microcontrollers, MCUdude has created a programmer that takes it to the next level, emulating an official Atmel UPDI programmer/debugger. He created (and sells) a PCB that will host an Arduino Nano Pro and wrote a sketch to program it.
I wanted a nice case to protect all the protruding pins.
