Display your filament swatches for easy access!
Re-use an empty filament spool!
Holds up to 88 swatches per tier.
This is designed for AmazonBasics/Overture spools, which have 100mm diameter cores, and can hold two tiers of swatches. Any other spool with similar dimensions should work fine, though if the inner height is less than 60mm you will only be able to fit a single tier.
Better yet, combine it with parts from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3220675 and stack multiple spools of swatches!
If you're like me you like to print filament swatches for colour/temperature reference and to check performance. I use these:

They come with a box model, but I decided to find an interesting way to display them that is both organized and easier to browse.
Swatches are designed to press-fit in with a retention divot in the hole nearest the left side. The halves snap-fit around the spool core, though gluing them is recommended since they likely will not stay together; this is because they need some flex to let the swatches snap in and out.
Print with a single 0.6mm perimeter, no support required, and no infill.
Assemble, snap in your swatches, and enjoy!
More swatches than one spool can hold?
Use the core parts from

I will try to get to requests for custom diameters if you post a measurement of the spool you want to use, but naturally the number of swatches you can fit will differ. If your hub is smaller I'd just suggest printing a donut shape to fill it out to 100mm.
