I love the way low-poly models and wood-filled filament come together, and one of my kids needed a stand for her iPad. Thus the low-poly tree stump tablet stand was created.
Rather than trying to customize it to a specific tablet manufacturer or model, I opted to go with a healthy sized notch that should accommodate most tablets out there. I also included 2 notches to allow for a bit of a choice in which the angle the tablet rests. I'm pretty happy with the results, as these really seem to lend to both the rough stump feel and the low-poly aesthetic.
Cheers!
Blender 2.8
Nothing too crazy. I've taken a liking to some of the new bells and whistles in 2.8 and have been using it for more CAD-like applications. I filled in the hole in the old stump, and did some boolean operations to cut out the unwanted sections and add the notches for the tablet.
Then I inset the edge areas and randomized the vertices to get a more rough hewn feel to the edges and notches.I probably should have spent more time thinking about the angle of the notches, but it works for me.
