Heyho
My smallest kid starts to look around in our household, so I had to build sth. to protect these precious, small fingers :D Of course this doesn´t eleminate the possibility for the fingers to get pinched but it reduces the possible surface to a minimum.
I have 3 designs to be screwed into place with 3 mm wood screws.
Springy: This version works with a printed spring. So you can 3D print all essential parts. But use good material for the spring that will not weaken over time. I used PETG.
Rubbery: This version works with normal rubber bands. The advantage is that you can easily adjust its strength.
Gravity: This version comes with a hook to which you can attach various things. So use a metal spring or let gravity do the job!
Stability tipp: Print with 3 perimeters and 100% infill.
Action tipp: Use some wax (candles: parrafin) or lube to make all parts moove more easy. Especially the printed spring could use some to reduce the friction ,-)
Have fun and keep printin!
PS: It can also be used as a little toy for the kids if they already opened the drawer ,-)
