This mount attaches to the rails on a Nerf gun and can hold a flashlight. In the Picture, you see a Thrunite T10 mounted to a Nerf Elite 2 Commander RD-6.

You can easily customize the mount with a set of parameters that are included in the opdenscad file. There is a flex release that can be activated, you can put in different diameters for different flashlights or other cylindrical objects (looks good with diameters above 18 mm, but is still functional below that). You can also put in different rail measurement, if you want to use it on something different from a Nerf. There is also a parameter to modify the tolerance of the fit on the rail (I found it works best with 0,1 mm of tolerance).

I printed this in PETG with 0,2 mm layer height, 3 perimeters and 30% Gyroid infill. It is plenty strong and flexible enough to take the flashlight with a satisfying click.

Guide to Customizing:

To customize the openscad file, the easiest way is to install OpenSCAD. Then open the file. After changing all desired parameters you can Preview (F5), Render (F6) and Export as stl (F7) The following parameters can be adjusted:

light_diameter: this takes the diameter of the flashlight in mm.

tolerance: I had the best results with 0.1mm tolerance, you can try if more or less give you better results.

part_length: the desired length of the part in mm.

light_brim: the diameter (mm) of the round edges, that help guide and snap in the light.

mount_heigth: the height of the mount over the rail in mm. Can be adjusted for aesthetics or a very thick flashlight.

with_flex_release: set to ‘true’ to add a release in the mount. Especially helpful when using a not so flexible Filament.
