Sill in progress:

So one day I was building a truckputer because I was severely disappointed with Panafonic chinesium poor quality receivers. So I bought a 7" 800*480 LCD and driver board from ol' ebay and then played with it. Long story short (too late???) I never finished that project. Now I had an LCD and driver. Cool, I'll do another Pi project! Wait, what, there's an official LCD???? Now I have a spare LCD and driver board.

I've always wanted a second monitor for my laptop. Why? Bug off, because I said so! Oh, wait, fair question. Sometimes I'll be coding in Arduino or OpenSCAD where I can benefit from a full screen for the app but I also want a document opened or a video playing to adorn my monotony. Now I have one.

I'm using HDMI as my laptop has HDMI out but I also have VGA and composite video in as options.

As it sits, my design is functional. My next steps are to integrate the laptop mount in to the design, make the case tool-less, and add the button panel (which isn't NECESSARY but might as well)

Ask away if you have questions. A link to a nearly identical product is listed below. This was made in Tinkercad and I'd gladly share the original project for anyone that wants to change it.

The clips that hold the second screen to the laptop are basic and will be turned in to their own thing so they can be customized.

Please note that the driver board and LCD I bought had a longer cable for the LCD so I'm not 100% sure if the LCD and board in that link would align properly in this case.

Here's my Tinkercad design: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/cJiti7FLNAE-lcd-case/

There's lots of spare parts there so don't freak out, print what you need. It's still in progress. Next iteration will have the button board incorporated (I didn't think I'd ever switch settings. WRONG!!!).
