This remix is more of a fidget toy than a coaster.
The original was an instant hit with the missus fidgeting with it. She said it would be cool if each section of the insert rotated separately, so I tried to re-create it for some learning for myself. You can also print each section in a different colour to mix-n-match if you like.
The separated insert sections each have a bar missing from the pattern, and I've not figured out how to fix that. The Outer/Inner rings of each section are also 0.4mm wider than the original, so might not work so well on top of the original base.
They're not a completely easy print, because the bottom layers of the rings have become just 1 extrusion width (0.4mm) thick. So it has lots of potential to fail.
Decided to make a frame (without the base) to hold 2 inserts together. This is handy because you can print two inserts in whatever colour you want and with this frame you then don't have a solid background and it looks quite cool.
Print the inserts from the original model for use with the frame.
I haven't re-created the wide or deep versions, and I'm not likely too.
Please refer to the original model for printing and assembly suggestions (basically 0.4mm extrusion width, 0.2mm layer height, flat/smooth sides against each other.
