Here is my design of a Prusa Hot End pen holder!
There are no supports needed for this print and you also won't need the MMU for a colored print, the color change is purely layer based.
Dimensions are ~ W=14cm x D=8cm x H=12cm.
And don‘t worry, you pens won‘t melt! :-)
Assembly guide:
- Print both gcodes or slice by yourself with the provided .3mf or .stl files. I recommend to have at least 3-4 perimeters for the nozzle.
- Simply click all 16 lamellas into the heat sink body. You shouldn't need glue.
- Hold the nozzle with one hand and twist the hot end in.
Do not twist the stand as the weakest link is where the nozzle touches the groundplate.
- Do not overtighten, there is supposed to be a gap between the nozzle and the heater block just like you know it from your printer :-)
- Enjoy your pen holder!
I recommend to use the .gcode or .3mf file as this is already correctly orientated and sliced.
The provided gcode for the stand has 2 color changes included like I used for my print, feel free to slice the part yourself if you wish a single color print.
Optional reinforced version:
If you want a super rigid version you can show your grand children I also added a optional screw reinforced version for the stand. You will need a M3x30 screw and hex nut for this (you can also use the ones from your mk3s spare parts).
The screw goes through the nozzle and you simply need to insert the hex nut into the nozzle before assembly and screw the screw in from the bottom of the stand.
Special thanks to
Aaron for providing additional pictures!

Print instructions
I recommend to use the .gcode or .3mf file.
Print the nozzle with at least 3 perimeters.
I used 0.2mm layer height for the heat sink and 0.15mm layer height for the nozzle and stand.
Print 16 lamellas!
The provided gcode for the stand has 2 color changes included like I used for my print, feel free to slice the part yourself if you wish a single color print.
