Tested with the Raspberry PI 3 B+ without problems. But the board gets pretty hot with the upside mounting position and no airflow. For the model RPi 4 forced cooling probably will be necessary.
Use the excellent “WS281x LED Status” plugin to control the led strip.
Tested with the SK6812W leds. Reduce the brightness to reduce power and extend lifetime LEDs
