Laser Pointer batteries get wasted?
I can't keep a laser point in my toolbag, something always winds up pressing the button.
Here's a trigger guard so it can be stored almost anywhere without getting accidentally turned on. My laser pointer is 14.1mm in diameter, the button is about 4.3mm and sticks up by 2mm. YMMV.
The gap at the back of the guard is pretty small, you may need to pry it open using a scissors or dikes. It should snap open easily.
I had to really bend it open to get it over the switch. Then I gently clamped it closed and used baking soda (not baking powder) and a drop of super glue to fill the joint.
Tada! The button presses easily with a finger, but not by something leaning on it.
AND THEN, I quickly discovered my design is as poor as the Apple Pencil. If you really like round, go ahead. Otherwise,V2 is uses a hexagon shape to prevent roll-away. And doesn't need to be spread open so far, and doesn't need glue!
Enjoy!
