I really like the original Index ceiling mount design by nerdaxic, but I had a few issues with it that I have resolved here.
- When using a Counterweight mounted to the back of the headset, the headset would not fit between the ceiling plate and the shelf the headset rests on. So, I raised the distance from the ceiling plate to the shelf.
- I found that the lip the headset rests on wasjust short enough to make me worry about it slipping out if I put it on wrong, and it simply wouldn't fit without falling with the Counterweight, so the shelf has been extended
- The shelf's edge has been flattened, as when it was curved, the layer lines would occasionally snag on the fabric of the headset/Counterweight.
- A hole has been added in the shelf to allow a screwdriver to poke through to allow for much easier installation/removal. (Seriously, I don't know how why this wasn't in the original :P)
