I like to keep things clean and protected, that's why I printed a hot shoe cover a while back then. This worked fine, but the cover did not only cover the hot shoe but also a little mechanism that tells the camera not to allow a usage of the internal flash… I mean the internal flash is not often used so it shouldn't be a problem, but in some cases, it is just uncomfortable to remove the hot shoe cover and to put it on again (considering that some people like me drop those little things easily). In order to solve that problem, I designed a hot shoe cover which doesn't trigger the unwanted mechanism and also looks quite good (well at least it got the flavor of mine).
Tip: print it with a brim and the triangle pointing upwards (in direction z axis)
I really hope this model solves your issues with the hot shoe as well and please let us know on which Canon model it did work. Also, if you got suggestions or if the cover doesn't cover a specific Canon Eos/M model → feel free to get in contact with me!
