WARNING: With 10mm high fan, Y must not go under 4mm, front screws that hold the fan will hit enclosure door.
I wanted a more maintenance friendly voron 0.1 print head with sherpa mini extruder, also to be as light as possible, so I've created this modular design. Part cooling fan design is from original vorondesign's fusion360 file, but modified/split to fit this mount.
Mount works with stock x axis carriage, It also supports 30x30x10 mm fans since my original 5v 7mm fan was DOA so i've replaced it with 12V fan from e3d v6 clone i had lying around.
Mount only needs 2 heat inserts - to screw in sherpa mini, the rest is self supporting with self tapping screws.
Hardware needed for it to work is:
2x m3*4mm heat insert
2x M3x25mm BHCS or SCHS for mounting to x carrier
2x M3x16mm self tapping screws for fixing 30x30x10mm fan
2x M2x10mm self tapping screws for fixing part cooling fan shrouds (just like the ones for end stops)
2x M3x12mm BHCS or SCHS for fixing sherpa mini
2x 2.5mm zip ties for cable management, fixed to the fan shrouds
Printing instructions:
Print in asa/abs as normal head for temp resistance, fan shrouds are lying with front side on the bed, center peace is lying with top side on the bed.
