- Added new version of ring holder, now includes a thread locking system and adjusted tolerance
Inspired by nestyr and Styx design, I decided to put my own spin to it.
Magnets used are 6x1. I ordered 300 pieces and looks like it's enough, but I did not count all the miniatures yet.
System consists of:
- Miniature base or Standee base
- If you want to print your own miniatures
- This is where you glue your miniature to
- The shape was made by nestyr, I added a hole for the magnet
- If you want to use original monster tokens
- Remixed the most popular standee on printables to fit into the system
- Ring indicating monster type
- Print (or paint!) different colors for different enemy types
- Secured in place by magnets from miniature base and HP Token
- The shape was made by nestyr, I removed numbering
- HP Token
- Contains numbers that are visible through hole in the ring
- Numbers from 0 to 9
- +10HP Token
- Quite self explainatory, add this token to monsters with more than 10HP
- Ring holder
- Since all the other elements are held together by magnets, I made a simple holder that can keep the rings together
- V1 can be printed in vase mode, make bottom thickness 3mm
- V2:
- Stand can be printed in any layer height, except the thread needs to be more detailed (I recommend 0.1) - to speed up printing use Variable layer height or Height range modifier (thread starts at 131mm)
- Infill that works for me is 10%, above 120mm I upped it to 50% to make the thread more sturdy)
- I recommend printing the locking ring in 0.1 layer height as well
Please note that the numbers are removed since that is not that much important for my group, it is still important for determining order of operation of the monsters.
The numbers on tokens are popped out and not carved in - it is recommended to print HP and +10HP tokens with multiple colors. To make +10HP Token more visible, I painted sides HP Token black
Colors I used for outer rings:
- Bronze - for normal monsters
- Silver - for elite monsters
- Gold - for bosses
- Green - for summoned monsters

Putting magnets in
To securely lock magnets in the cutouts use superglue.
Glue the first magnet in any piece, wait for it to dry and use it as a guide for other tokens to ensure correct magnet polarity.
