The original treasure chest puzzle box was a great design, but having to sand the parts was a drag.
So some of the interfacing elements were tweaked, and now sanding is no longer required.
Note: the top frame may not be a tight fit with the bottom frame, but this is the tradeoff from having looser tolerances. The original design was such a tight fit that sometimes the frame ends would split along layer lines due to the stress concentration.
Tip: align the Z-seam so that it faces internally; it will give your final model a much more pleasant look.
