Capillary Tube to 15ml Test Tube Adaptor for Clinical Centrifuge

This is an experimental adaptor to allow a capillary tube to sit in a cup designed to hold a 15ml test tube, to be used in a bench-top clinical centrifuge. 

After breaking a few capillary tubes, I figured that the vibrations or the centripetal forces were to blame. Many centrifuges hold the tubes at a rigid 45° angle and have tube holders which are tapered at the bottom. I believe the tubes were snapping in the middle because they were only touching the tube holder at the top and bottom of the capillary tube.

This model is designed to sandwich around one capillary tube and be inserted into the tube holder to ensure it is fully supported and constrained.

*After importing to the slicer, you may need to Split to Objects to separate the halves, then flip upside down to print. The keystone at the top is intended to have a snug fit, but allow the two halves to seat fully against each other.

If you decide to use this, remember to print multiples of 2 and keep your centrifuge balanced at all times. Know your centrifuge, follow all safety procedures. I am not responsible for damage caused by this device's use. (On that note- I would love to know if this works for you.)
