Still a work in progress, things may change
I'm building a laser engraver with a school grant, and here is my design!
Features:
- coreXY
- 270mm * 270mm cutting area
- compatible with all 40mm * 40mm lasers (I'm using a 5w one)
- Runs on an Arduino UNO with a CNC shield and drv8825 drivers
- Easy focus adjustment
- $400-ish for everything, and about 1 spool of PETG
- All parts print with no supports
- Can reach the arduino 8-bit speed wall
List of materials:
- 2x Nema 17
- 16x f623zz bearings
- 2x gt2 6mm 20tooth 5m bore pulley
- 5m 6mm gt2 belt
- Assorted m5 screws
- Assorted m3 screws
- m2 t-nuts
- 3x 500mm 2020 v-slot
- 2x 500mm 2020 t-slot
- V-Wheels
- Eccentric nut/Spacers for V-wheels, 6mm thickness
- 40mm * 40mm laser (I'm using 5w, but anything will work depending on your budget)
- 12v @ 6 amp power brick
- Arduino UNO
- Arduino UNO CNC shield
- 2x drv8825 driver
- Mini bread board
I don't really have any instructions or documentation other than the designs for now, but once I polish up this project I'll work on the docs.
