Replaced L and R with the Oculus logo
I recently bought a Quest 2 and continue to play BeatSaber a lot. My two Quest 1 controllers sometimes collide violently in my hands, it didn't kill them but I want to do something about it.
But I don't have TPU, and I don't want to buy a roll of TPU just for this (I heard they love moisture in the air when storing) so I tried to remix the f3d files.
Thanks for the f3d file provided, I tried a few different things with PLA (like splitting the shell in the middle and rejoining them with M1×4 screws), however, I quickly realized that the original design was not far from being useable with hard plastic (PLA/ABS/PETG), so only minor adjustments are implemented:
I ended up printing mine in blue and orange PLA, a very cheap (about $25CAD a kilo) filament I got from Amazon. PETG and ABS will definitely perform better than PLA, some of which are too brittle.
I would recommend printing this withtwo perimeters, this will leave a cavity between the inner and outer wall, which will make squeezing a little easier when putting the controller in, and leave a buffer for impact.
I tested them by playing BeatSaber, and from what I see, regular hole sizes will not affect tracking accuracy.
I tried PETG, they were softer and easier to install, but they were stringing badly, guess I will stick with PLA.

Notes:
I don't currently have any colored PETG, but I believe PETG will perform better than ABS and better than PLA.
In any case, I have initially verified it works with PLA, which is relatively brittle, any material with better impact resistance than PLA should do better.
