This mounting plate was modeled to be the base for a drone remote control for my bike. I didn't want to mount the remote control on the bike handlebars because I don't have enough space and it just didn't feel right.... ;-)
So I decided to split the project into a very specific mounting system that fits my EASTON EA70 bike stem and provides a mounting plate for general use to mount everything needed.
Please also have a look at my other model “DJI RC Mounting Plate” (https://www.printables.com/model/220432) which forms the seconds half of this project.
Update 2022-10: After months of use I discovered by chance that this mounting plate can be also used as simple way to store my bicycle lock during bike trips (see last photo)… this works so surprising well that I plan to keep the plate on my bike all the time now…
Here is the drawing for the screws on the mounting plate:
Use M4 screws, I also created some simple hand wheel grips for M4 nylon nuts which can be used for monting/unmounting stuff.
Three of those M4 nylon nuts hand wheel grips are used to mount the two mounting plate parts together. See the photos for details.
I recommend to print the mounting plate with PETG, 0.15 mm layer height, 40% infill and supports. PETG is recommended because of its high dynamic load stability when used on the bike (doesn't crack and break easily!).
