A boat cup holder that holds two cups and snaps onto the side rail of your boat. The holder, clip, and cup are separate files so that they can be redesigned/adapted to fit different side rails, sizes/shapes of cups or hold other objects. The cups are inserted from above and snap into place. The clips are installed from below as shown in the exploded rendering and turned 45 degrees to hold them in place. Once the holder is snapped onto the side rail of the boat the clips can no longer rotate and are held in place. The clips also adapt to the curvature of the side rail since each clip can rotation-ally self aligning to the side rail where it is installed.
Update: By request I have uploaded "holder_blank_v1.step" which has the text and hooks shown in the renderings removed. You should be able to open this file in any 3D CAD program so that you can add your own image/text.
PETG is a great material for this. Especially for the clips which need to be flexible, strong and hold their shape after installation. PETG will also be good for hot summer days and other outdoor conditions.
If you design your own clips be sure to design in a little interference so that the legs of the clip squeeze the side rails a little when installed. For example, the legs of the clips shown are designed with the ends of the legs approximately 5 degrees closer together than the side rail profile.
