This is a ring light mount for use with the “Prusa Mini Raspberry Pi Camera Mount” by Clip-Fastening. Uses the Adafruit Cool White LED Ring Light with USB Cable and On/Off Switch, available from Adafruit in the US, or PiHut in the UK.
I had problems powering this directly from the Pi2 - a separate 5V power supply works best.
Print the dish and mount in .2mm PETG, the dish requires support underneath the ball mount.
Print the diffuser in .2mm PLA, white ideally.
Desolder the power connection from the ring, slider the power wire through the hold and resolder the connection. I mounted the light ring inside the dish using three hot glue spots to provide a small air gap between the ring and the rear of the piece. A part of the ring get hots during use, don't glue here.
The rear camera mount is designed to interface to the camera mount from the original mount kit. The printed piece from this kit needs to be glued to the rear of this dish with superglue, making sure the central hole is aligned, and the path for the cable is to the bottom of the dish.
The diffuser ring is optional - print in a white PLA colour. It's best attached with a couple of drops of super glue. In testing I found I preferred the light without the diffuser.
