This is a t-slot nut designed to work the the Sainsmart 3018-pro desktop router. It should fit the channels on the extruded aluminum bed. I will use it with the “3018 CNC workpiece clamp" by dekaware.
First iteration was too tight (made to work with a heat gun). I made it a bit shorter to better accommodate the screw with less work. I drove the screws in by placing them facing down into the channel on the aluminum bed, then screwed the screw into the nut from the top (with a drill set to low torque and low speed). The loosened version works beautifully with M6 flat head screws.
Note that with the dekaware 3018 CNC workpiece clamps require a M6x50mm screw (at least 50mm thread length) in order to be able to hold down tall material (like 35 mm thick foam). The one issue with those clamps is that they bind on the screws, and so can't be raised as high as some of material I'd like to process. The maximum material thickness that they can clamp is 29mm (without shimming additional materials under the tail of the clamp).
