This power connector has been designed to fit the FM1000 series of VHF transceivers. This was a request from the Aberdeen Amateur Radio Society (www.aars.org.uk). The power connectors for these radios are very rare and hard to find, and the club has a sizeable collection of these radios. The objective is to modify these radios to work on 4m, and the rare/missing power connectors are a missing part in this plan.

The V11 version has the final position of the sockets around 1mm below the surface of the connector. This provides the fullest engagement of pins and sockets, but with them still remaining below the surface of the plug- to reduce the likelihood accidental shorting on something external/metallic. You may choose to modify this- all source files are provided for you to do this.

Printing & Supports
Print using a 0.25mm nozzle. This is important due to the thin walls of the connector- especially between the three V notches and the holes. Using a standard 0.4mm nozzle means some of the side walls are missed out.

I printed using PLA at 0.15mm layer heights and 20% infill. PETG may be a more durable option, but I have not tried this.

Supports are not required- providing they are printed with he widest part on the build plate; the inner profile has been designed with a 45deg chamfer.

Build
Print it, prepare and install standard PC molex connector sockets- the female side of the connectors (readily available on eBay). Fit is tight, but this is good for a power connector. Pinout for the radio is in the photos- but please ensure your check your radio before following the provided pinout.
