Release of the 2021 version (v4)

Completely redesigned from scratch but kept most of the v3 design. I've done some extensive testing on all parts and the complete assembly so I suppose it would be fine to print. However if you experience any issues please let me know and I'll try to fix them.

Update 10th of January 2025

Update 10th of March 2022

  • after some help and support from some of the users of my designs I've finally think I found the correct design for the exit which can be used as exit but can also be stuffed with the exit-stuffer to use it as normal follower piece! The stuffer should also fit when printed in PLA, however flexible filament might be better. Enjoy!

Update 19th of January 2022

  • I've updated the exit, exit array and corresponding stuffer. They now can work as single exit dropping the ball when it arrives at the height the exit is installed. Or the ball will travel higher when the exit is equipped with an exit stuffer, then it will pass the exit and move higher to the next exit (make sure there is a next exit ;) ) https://youtu.be/5fjg8XTBZ0g

Update 25th of October

Update 22th of May

  • It might be that exit and exit array v115 doesn't work for you. Please try exit and exit array v90 when the balls don't exit the lift correctly. I will try to fix this issue as soon as possible. Apologies for the frustration this might have caused you.

Update 24th of April

  • slight improvements to the exits and exit array (v115)
  • final version of the exit which is compatible with theExit stuffer remix! This allows the ball to pass an exit without leaving the lift!

Update 22th of April

  • improved version of the exit which prevents the ball to fall out when using the new Muscle Engine remix.

Update 24th of March

  • added ridge to the base to be able to connect additional parts.

Update 14th of March

  • more clearance for the cable in the base part.

Update 13th of March

  • found a fault with the base inputs, updated the base part.

Update 12th of March

  • added the 15mm coil part for better compatibility

Update 6th of March

  • Updated the stabilizer ring to have some more room around the pins which make assembly easier. Also check out the updated stabilizer system https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4685631 how to use the stabilizer parts of the lift!

Update 5th of March

  • improved the inputs where balls could balance on the input when the rails has a flat slope. Therefor all input parts and motor base are now at v90.
  • improved the exit part to have a better rails connection.
  • added a new exit array to have a similar stabilization functionality as the input array but then for exits.
  • improved and added functionality for the stabilizer ring and clip to be used with the new stabilization system (see my other thing).

Update 16th of February

  • I've added some extra pins, please test all pins first before choosing one to use for mass-print. Also print them on the side to ensure the pins are strong enough (due to the layer orientation).
  • Furthermore the bottom ring (v77) is now a cap to hide/protect the wires from the motor.

Update 12th of February

Improvements over version 3

Although version 3 of the lift was a great success it still had some flaws which needed to be fixed. This version 4 has those fixes but is therefor not compatible with the version 3 of the lift. I've decided to make it a whole new thing on thingiverse to be able to update the version 3 with some minor changes making it a very enjoyable lift and allowing the current owners of the lift to update it by changing a few parts.

When you don't own the lift already then try the new version 4!

1 - Flush exits

  • The exit is now flush with the followers, allowing not only rails but also building parts to be connected to the exits.

2 - Hexagonal pins

  • The pins are now hexagonal and allow easier printing and less cleaning up the printed parts. Besides that they are slightly longer for a better and more solid fit in the final assembly.

3 - New motor support

  • The lift now uses a new type of motor which sounds and runs better than the original motor used in version 3.
  • However I've added an inset to support the old motor as well!

4 - Improved entry

  • The version 3 will also receive this as a minor update. The version 4 has a completely revised entry allowing the balls to be picked up better by the coil. Even single balls will now be lifted directly instead of requiring the help of a second ball.

5 - Stackable!

  • The top ring is improved. The height of the lift is now following the heights which can be built by my elevation system or any Gravitrax tower for that matter.
  • But it now also supports that you can continue the track on top of the lift. Using either my elevation system or any of my 6 exit base tiles or the default Gravitrax parts!
  • The bottom has holes which allow the pilars of my elevation system to be connected to support the lift at levels of different heights.

6 - Improved stability

  • Introducing an input array of three inputs which also works as a stabilizer ring without losing or adding height to the lift!
  • I'll also include a stabilizer shim which can be used in a similar matter but that part will add 1mm of height to the whole construction.

Non-commercial design this lift is released for personal usage only, it's not allowed to sell this lift for commercial purposed without contacting the designer when this lift is sold and it's questionable whether it's allowed, please contact the designer and send a link. It's beneficial for the whole community to keep open-source designs fair.

The only part which you might want to print with supports is the Motor coil part to make sure that the triangle cutout is printed neatly

Print the pins on the side (not standing up) for the correct strength due to layer orientation.
