Hi All,
The first project I built back in 1990 when I graduated with a BS in Comp-Eng was a power supply. It has served me well all these years, but it was limited. So I decided on a new 3D printed update. I like Sebr's power supply design and I built it for myself. However the square hole for the dual USB port on the face plate was excluded from the final published files. So I decided to add that back because I liked the idea of having a few 5V USB ports since many of my designs use USB powered boards like the Wemos D1.
I have included both the Faceplate with the USB cutout for a 14.5 mm x 15.25 mm dual USB port and the carrier to hold the PCB and USB ports. See pics for some detail. Per Sebr's instructions, you will need to program a color change at around 2.8 mm for the text on the facade. I like using machine screws for 3D printed designs, so I tapped the facade mounting holes and USB carrier with 2 mm threads.
Also you will need some protoboard. About 20mm x 20mm with 100 mil holes.
I used these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3161JP?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_FBAJ24A7DND97ADNPF0Q
And dual USB ports. You can cut off the mounting tabs because the carrier will hold the ports secure enough to the facade. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L3M98V1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lastly, I revised the base rails to have a small 10mm detent for rubber feet so that they better stay in place.
Enjoy, this was a fun / useful project. Thanks Sebr.
