Tool holder for the Prusa MK3 (and MK2/MK2S). Made for the tools I use the most. The version for the MK2/MK2S is the same except for an additional 5mm in the length of the clip.

Photos are from a previous version but there is almost no visual difference.

2019/01/27: Redesigned the clip. Seems to be ok now, but I added a new stl with only the clip so you can test it for clearances before you print the whole thing. Watch the infill percentage. Retouched a few other minor details and I removed the old v20 to avoid clutter.

2019/01/10: Warning! the printing head might clash with the clip if it tries to get to the far right at its height position. I could shave 2mm from it to avoid this but this would make it weak and would probably break easily. I have to rethink the clip position. Stay tuned.

2019/01/03: Slight redesign of the pen and deburring tool slots in v30 (now v32) to avoid them falling out due to printing vibrations.

2018/12/30: Added expanded version (v30) to add space for MMU2 tools and other things. Old version is v20.

2018/08/30: Added a variant for the MK2/MK2S.

Print instructions

Careful with the supports. I printed it in Slic3rPE with Extrudr PETG Neon Orange and i had to use slow speed for the supports (20mm/s), enable the fan on the second layer, and set supports at a 45 degree angle so they would stick properly to previous layers. I also disabled the "don't support bridges" option to avoid a very long bridge which i wasn't sure it would work.

Post-Printing

  • Remove supports
  • Attach to printer. Clip first from the left side and the right side should snap with no force. Position it vertically so it rests on the power supply.
  • Fill with tools.
