Do you have last few meters of plastic on our spools and you don't know for what to use it? Do you have some pices of plexi, cardboard, plywood, metal sheet or fabric? Connected together could create enclosure, box, frame, curtain, insert part, ... Plastic rivets make it possible. With these rivets you could event join together elements from different materials.

Attached you will find parametrized source files for Fusion 360 with 3 variants of rivets: A, B, C.

All three variants could be used for joining parts. For joing of thin parts variant B will be prefered - the connecting hooks will be a tad higher and more flexible than in variant A. Another use for variants A, B could be to close openings. Variant C can reinforce the edges of holes, hide ugly edges, reduce diameter of holes ... Male part from variant A could be used as blanking plug for all kinds of round openings (e.g. blanking plug for brackets of shower slider).

Print settings:
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Supports: No
  • Material: PETG (preferred)

Regarding the material - the grey blanking plug on the photo is made of PLA. It has been used for several months and stays in place unlike the original plug.

Workflow to create STL files:
  • open selected 3df file in Fusion 360;
  • select Modify -> Change Parameters;
  • adjust parameters according to your needs;
  • save male and female part as STL files: select Bodies -> MalePart (FemalePart) and from context menu select Save As Mesh.
