Designed in collaboration with my wife (the knitter), to at least match the performance of her favourite mass-produced injection-molded knitting clips.  (I figured there was not much use making something she wouldn't use anyway. Took me 6 iterations to pass muster.)

NOTE: Must be smooth, to avoid catching in the wool thread.

Prints well at 50mm/s, in PLA.

  • 3 walls (0.4mm line width)
  • 8 Top Layers
  • 8 Bottom Layers
    • 0.24mm initial layer
    • remaining layers at 0.12mm

A useful collection of clips should include multiple colours, in quantities of 8-10 each. Your knitter will have their own system for assigning meaning to each colour.

The photos of the printer in action show “before” and “after” printing with my last 200mm of filament. 🙌

UPDATE: Many thanks to  Lima for generously sharing their brilliant “kit-card” re-packaging of a batch of 10 of these clips (see Makes and Comments).
