A triangular coffee-dripper stand for pour-over coffee.

WHY?

Because I keep breaking coffee carafes, I wanted a method of making coffee that lets me drip the coffee into anything - measuring cups, bowls, pint glasses, anything - without having to precariously balance a cone filter on top of something.

This was designed to:

  • fit under a 3L Zorijushi hot water boiler spigot
  • allow a variety of vessels underneath, including:
    • automatic coffee maker carafes
    • a 4-cup pyrex measuring cup
  • compatible with a variety of filter cones, including:

(Also, it occurs to me that it looks a lot like “the eye of providence", aka Bill Cipher)

PRINTING

There are 2 versions here. Both of them should be printed upside-down, with the legs sticking up into the air. I'd recommend big layers, and at least 40% grid infill.

tripod_dripper_curved.stl : use support on the build plate to make sure that the indentation on the surface prints well (I did not use support for my print, and in the photos, you'll see some major defects in the surfaces)
tripod_dripper_chamfered.stl: This version uses chamfers instead of fillets, so it might not need support. However, I haven't printed it yet.

Material: I used Polymaker PolyLite PLA. I have not noticed any deformation due to heat. In normal use, the stand does not come into direct contact with food or food surfaces, so food safety is not a concern. However, long-term, it might be good to apply some soft of water-tight sealant to prevent coffee spills from seeping into the cracks.
