Improved design from the previous version (v6). This design is v7.

Simple phone stand designed in FreeCAD to accommodate phones with popcaps and / or battery cases. Designed with iPhone 7/8/SE in mind in a slim battery case, both with and without a popcap. Should fit most phones. Your mileage may vary.

Tested in portrait and landscape - popcaps were more or less centered. Also used with 9.7-inch iPad 4 (in portrait only). IF using with iPad, be careful not to topple.

Phones may slide around a bit because the "hook" is large to accommodate phone+battery case.

Channel on underside of feet is for glue-stick glue - for grip / non-slide.

Print Settings

Printer:

FLSUN QQ-s

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.3

Infill:

15%

Filament:

Hatchbox PLA PLA

Notes:

I used Cura 4.7.1 using "Tree" supports with a skirt. Extruder at 205 and bed at 65 running at 100 mm/s on the FLSUN QQ-s.

This is the 7th iteration to accommodate placement of popcaps and provide for a relatively short print time. I print these in just under an hour.

Post-Printing

For non-slip feature, use hot glue

All I did was squirt a bead of hot glue into the channel and then use a knife blade to press flat and shmoosh the hot glue into the channel.

I put a very light coat of non-stick spray (just barely any) and spread it over knife face. I shmoosh the hot glue and hold the knife until the glue cools a bit, then the knife easily comes off and leaves the glue in the channel.

The channel is supposed to keep the hot glue from peeling off - YMMV.

Another option is Sugru or some other mouldable, rubbery substance.
