The Viking horn was very easy to 3D scan but the technology was only able to capture the outside surface of the horn. Once we were able to hollow out the horn, we 3d printed and assembled it.
Interesting fact about the horns, they were never used for viking helmets. They did use them for drinking and sometimes even in battle. As opposed to the prop on set that is made out of bone, we made ours out of a bioplastic.
