My sister in law has diabetes and vision problems. She was sometimes having difficulty locating her meter among her medications.

These snap-together cases printed in high-visibility colors make it easier for her.

For a Freestyle Lite or Freestyle Freedom Lite meter you will need one corresponding holder and base. The regular versions of the holder parts have circle cutouts to allow access to the data port on the meter. If you aren't using the data ports, the NoDP versions lack the cutouts for a cleaner print.

Print instructions

Print in any high-visibility non-flex filament.

The top of the holders has a fairly flat curve. Printed at .2mm this was rougher than I liked. I printed each holder using the best variable resolution available on my printer for the top of the holder and the top of the data-port hole. Sanding probably would have worked just as well.

Post-Printing

To prevent possibly scratching the furniture, you can add high-visibility stick-on felt to the bottom of the base. (I chose the particular orange filament to match available felt.)

If you put together the holder and base without a meter, the fit will be loose.

To use, put the meter into the holder and snap the holder into the base. I found it best to seat the top end and then snap the arms into place. With one arm in place, sliding the holder back and forth a little bit let me snap the other arm in place if it was too tight.

To remove the meter from the case, push the ends of the holder arms together & lift.
