One evening I was on the rear deck and picked up my iPad Pro and accidentally knocked the Pencil from the magnetic mount on the side of it. The $130 Pencil fell through the spacing in the deck boards and into a damp, dirty crawl space. After retrieving the Pencil and cleaning myself off I decided to make something to keep such things from happening again.
This Pencil clip holds the second generation Pencil on the side of the iPad Pro 12.9 (M1 model, don't know about others) and provides additional holding power over the magnet. It was designed to work in conjunction with the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard. It firmly clips to the Pencil and then clips over the case and the screen, allowing the keyboard to be opened. The clip does not obscure the screen on the front, so it can remain in place if you are not using the Pencil. It does not interfere with the closing of the case, either.
Printed using basic PLA, 0.2 mm layer height with a 0.4 mm nozzle. No supports needed if printing as given in the STL file (on its side). Use a brim for better bed adhesion.
