This is a sculpted blender model of a hand that I'm working on for use in a future project. The model stands just over 7 cm tall and prints well without support.
Starting with a simple two dimensional model of a hand laid flat I extruded polygons in Blender to achieve the basic shape and sub-structure, then added a depth modifier and shaped further through point pulling. I then subdivided the mesh and sculpted a few times with increasing resolution to get the shape and position that I wanted. Finally I extruded the circular base, imported the hand and joined them in OpenSCAD then ran it through Slic3r and exported the STL to ensure it was a valid manifold (as well as to reduce the file size).
