epoxy table kit after lighting - YouTube
This is a project that I really wanted to do for a long time now and when the contest came up, I was already looking for a present for a wedding. The presented version is themed towards dogs because they are huge dog lovers, but I did include a blank tile for putting any .svg on.
The base of my mold box I used a sheet of Masonite wall panel.
The edges were made with 2"x2" furring strip
The lumber or materials for the mold box are completely up to you but the corner bumpers that I included were made for the 1.5" dimension for a furring strip. Those flourish pieces are very nice because my miter saw doesnt give a perfect angle so they really hide that imperfection.
At the time of posting this the table is still being assembled and pictures will be uploaded as the project progresses
The corners are designed for heat set inserts and the holes are positioned for hairpin legs, the links for both are here. I made the corners with 100% infill to strengthen the legs.
All of the intersecting pieces and corners have a hole through them for running lights through the epoxy between the tiles and leveling the resin. The center intersection pieces have a hole downward for running the lights into the table before pouring the epoxy.
For best productivity print your tiles first so you can start by pouring the epoxy into your design while printing all the other pieces. I assembled the entire framework using uv resin before attaching to the mold box.
To seal the mold box and holes for the lighting and the bolt holes for the legs I used 100% silicone sealant. the finished dimensions of my table were 21 inch by 30 inch. I used around 1.5 gallons of resin.
