I've always had a fascination for astrolabes and decided to model a highly detailed one for myself. After an abundance of research from museum databases, I designed this one based on several Medieval artifacts, as well as later ones from the Royal Museum in Greenwich.

This is clearly a WIP, as it needs some serious refinement. I've been working on it, off and on, for quite a while now but it clearly needs work still. I may have gone overboard on the details, making them a bit fine for printing so if you want to give it a shot, don't try and print it small…you'll fail. Also, you'll need to be set to a higher quality to get all of the detail.

Anyway, it's complete and accurate. I put the files out if you have some extra filament and time to waste on giving it a shot. If you do, let me know. I'd like to see how it went for you. I will continue to refine and update the files over time, adding and replacing as necessary.

Lastly, I broke it up so that it can be printed without supports but there is a double sided version if you want to try and print it in one go. There's also a ‘complete’ model so that you can see how everything goes together.
