I love it / them. Printed three of these. Thanks a ton for sharing this design!
Printed in cheap PLA at 0,2mm; 3 walls / top / bottom layers. The threads turned out quite tight. I screwed it in using quite some torque for a few degrees, unscrewed and screwed back in a few times and the tear finally 'worked out' but was always afraif od breaking the print. I am sure there are better ways to achieve a good fit.
Some of my cardboard spools' friction caused strangely squeaking noises (that were subtle standing next to the printer but could be heard disturbingly clear 2 storeys up!) when filament was pulled off slowly by the printer (only when unwinding the filament from the front-side). I created an 'outer spindle' to 3D print that goes over this model's shaft for my cardbox spools so they no longer grind and make these noises. Testing it right now - so far no noises.
