Spool Caddy for 1" Extrusion Rack

This spool caddy holds your 1kg filament spool from a rail made of 1" (2525) extrusion. It uses a piece of 8mm rod as a low-friction axle.

Use material of your choice. I've used ABS and PLA. Printing on the side with supports may yield better results than printing lying down (lot of work to remove supports).

Use a bar clamp to press a 120 mm piece of 8mm rod into the spool. Glue a cap onto each end. The cap helps prevent the "legs" of the caddy from separating, dropping your spool onto your printer.
