I have been playing with this design for a while now, and now it actually works. Difficulties to overcome were getting the teeth actually working, and figuring out the stiffness of the part so it would be able to hold a towel in everyday use.

Pretensioned parts in 3D printing are basically impossible. This design solves the problem by making the hook two identical halves that fit together, but overlap where the clamp needs to be. So you need to print 2 to get one hook.

This thing is strong. It will hold a full size bathroom towel. It clamps up so well that I had difficulty prying it open at first. Assembly is easy, I thought I would need to glue these together but it holds together without any glue.
