Update:
There is now an alternative version designed for smaller print beds (see .zip file in uploads). In this version, the hinge can be attached using M3 bolts that will create their own threads in the plastic, eliminating the need for nuts. It is compatible with bolt lengths of roughly 18 to 35 mm. The longer the bolt, the more grip in the part, so the more durable the hinge.
I bought these radius/fillet gauges (from the Dutch Amazon) to more accurately measure object that I need to 3D model. Unfortunately they didn't come in a container, so I decided to practice SolidWorks and design my own. I am happy with the result.
The CAD files are included so the box can be adjusted to other gauges sizes. Also with a bit of CAD modelling it can be repurposed for other items, as the print-in-place hinge and closing mechanism work really well.
I printed it with 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls, 20% infill, DevilDesign Galaxy Black PLA, and NO SUPPORTS.
I would love to see whatever you make of this :)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
