In my specific case I've noticed some quality degradation in my prints while using the direct drive system in comparison with the default bowden solution so I've modified the direct extruder adapter from AndyO7 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5110857) to cut of some extra weight of 280g (extruder+stepper motor+adapter) from the printhead.
But why bother anyway, if I can use simply the default solution from anycubic? Actually you don't need to worry at all, except you need to change the feeding direction of filament, for example to be able to print inside an small size enclosure.
For installation you only need:
2x M4x10mm or less cylinder head screw
2x M4 Nut6 slot nut
Simply pop off the plastic cap from one of the strud sides and unscrew the two holding screws for the z axis. Slide one of the slot nuts first, then the adapter and lastly, the second slot nut. Put everything back together and screw the adapter to the slot nuts. For everything elso follow the description from the original maker of this design.
