My Unicomp Model M keyboard from 2013 lost regions of keys. After some research I found it was contact between the board and the cable. No connector just touching. My original Model M keyboards all had connectors. So, I had not thought about the problem of connection. Finally got to physically looking into this and found things were just wedged together. I did what all repairs call for and jammed more stuff in to wedge it tighter. Not my finest repair. I tried several methods of adding pressure and finally settled for jamming in two layers of sliced credit card on the back of the board to increase pressure down on the cable. worked great if I held the board in. The additional pressure on the cable side made the opposite side lift. My roommate asked what I was grumbling about and I said I needed to rig something to hold the board down. The obvious words next "We have a 3d printer you know...". This clip/clamp holds the top of the board tight to the steel base. This applies enough pressure at the top and the credit cards add enough at the bottom that the connection is working now.
