This is a quick 'n dirty hack to mount the OmniaDrop extruder on an Artillery Sidewinder X1, using the standard ribbon cables and extruder PCB. I have not done any extensive testing and see this as a temporary solution, while I wait for parts to replace the ribbon cables with proper wiring.
Parts you will need:
Start by detaching the extruder carrier and removing the old extruder. Insert the four M4 nuts into the holes on the back of the mounting plate. If the fit is a bit too tight, use a screw to pull in the nuts from the front of the adapter.
Attach the adapter to the carrier with the M5x30 and M3x8 screws, then attach the OmniaDrop extruder with the M4x20 screws. Make sure the screws do not press against the carrier by using enough washers (or buy slightly shorter screws, M4x18 should work).
The extruder can be mounted in two positions. The lower one is for use with the OmniaDrop hot end, while the upper one should (read as "have not tested yet") work with the volcano hot end. In both cases the nozzle tip should be in exactly the same location as it was with the original Artillery extruder.
Prepare the various cables by shortening and crimping them to appropriate lengths. I also replaced the four-pin DuPont socket for the RGB LED on the PCB with an asymmetric JST-XH one to make connecting the BLTouch foolproof.
Connect all the cables to the PCB, then mount it on the adapter using the M3x8 screws and nuts. Be careful not to kink the heater wires against the stepper motor. I found it easiest to slide the PCB from below at an angle between the motor and the mounting plate and then pivot the socket into the plate's slot.
Finally, install the carrier assembly and insert the ribbon cable into the PCB socket, then use the little bar and M2x8 screws to clamp it down. Your printer should now be ready for action again.
