The original model didn't work for me. For some reason, the hole in the base was far too small for the arm. I also wanted a bit of springy action from the arm (got that portion of the model from this clip model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:950426). The cable on my mouse (Logitech G302) was also a little too large to fit into the groove comfortably, so, added a bit of a bigger inner channel for that to lay in. I found that the base also is really light, but, a bit of double sided adhesive made it stable on my desktop.
EDIT 11/5/2018:
This is still a work in progress. I had to re-upload the model since I found out that I use the wrong perspective for the hole in the base in the original and it should have been turned 90 degrees. I'll probably upload another version eventually that refines the cord channel a little more.
EDIT 4/10/2020:
I uploaded another set of this model due to the feedback given.
The threshold on the base portion was still not up to snuff as indicated in the following make: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:782006
So, I went ahead and did some quick prototyping and I believe I've got a good threshold that shouldn't need any sanding to get the arm post into the base. I also felt that it would be best practice to split the models into their own files. The new base file is indicated with a V3. The arm model is unaltered (although it could still use some work, most likely) and still has the V2 indicator on the file. I have left the old file for now. But, I don't recommend using it, personally. I will likely remove that at a later date.
I should note that I don't actually use this myself anymore. But, that's mostly because I have a wireless mouse now. I also had to update the rights on this to non-commercial to match those of the strictest license in the models I used in this remix.

You will want supports under the post that overhangs on the bottom to plug into the base. You may also want some supports along the channel that the cord goes in.
