This set contains a lot of stuff to pimp your Thule Chariot trailer.
Some of the stuff might be obsolete if you own a new(er) version of the Thule trailers, so always check if the add-on is appropriate for your trailer.
All the light holders are designed for mounting regular retrofitting bike lights.
Stuff which goes on the horizontal stabilizer bar (oval shaped)
Modular clips for the stabilization bar (allow you to mix and match and add your own designs using the modellingbaseline files):
- Universal clips 30mm and 60mm wide in different versions
- Bottle holder for the 60 mm clip
- Front- and backlight holders for the modular clips
Dedicated clips for the stabilizer bar:
- Phone holder for horizontal and vertical attachment (requires e.g. a silicone strap to secure the phone)
- Front- and backlight holder, separate or combined
- Universal hooks in 30mm and 60mm wide
Clip for the side bar:
- Backlight holder (using the jogger setup at a single kid trailer, you will block the stabilizer bar mounted backlight with your body)
Clip for the jogger handlebar:
- Universal hook to secure e.g. stroller bags
Brass eyelet covers (and why you might need them):
The eyelet covers are designed to solve the problem of the brass eyelets of the fabric parts attached with a steel screw to an aluminum frame. This creates an almost perfect battery if you add the saltwater using the trailing in winter conditions. I have seen aluminum frames completely corroded to a point where you had to replace them (I bought mine second hand and one frame part was replaced). So if you are planning to use your trailer in the winter, make sure you at least apply some sticky grease like bike chain spray on the this areas or better get the eyelet inserts/washers printed and take the approx. 30min. to install them.
eyelet insert clip
- The eyelet insert clip designed for the older 6mm bolts. It insulates the steel bolt from the brass eyelet. You need to print 2 per eyelet and clip them together from each sides of the eyelet.
eyelet washer
- The newer model use a 8mm bolt which leaves no space for an eyelet insert, so I designed a washer to insulate the brass eyelet from the aluminum frame. I is printed best in TPU but other materials will work as well. To assemble just place it between the eyelet and the frame with the little nudge facing towards the eyelet. Also apply some sticky grease on the bolt to insulate it as good as possible from the eyelet.
Please let me know if you have any problems or more ideas for the set.
Have fun with the set!
