I love the design of the original, but it seemd to me and to several people who commented on it that the only problem was printing the sliding cover in PLA. PLA tends to break rather than flex enough for this application, and the original designer stated that this should be kept to about 1 MM thick even if scaling up the model.
I have kept the main parts the same and only replaced the cover with a design that is intended to be flexed in this manner. In fact, it would actually be BETTER if it was upscalled to be a few MM thick.
In the photos you can see a side-by side of the original pillbox with the improved cover alongside an identical print that I upscaled to 125%. The expanded proportions of the cover work just as well or better when expanded. You will want to increase the size to 125% if you are wanting to use it as a pencil box or as a box for paint markers as I did.
The cover itself is a remix of the excelllent Rolling Top Storage Box by Glezz on the Prusa website.
If printing the small box, you will need the BODY_SMALL.stl, PencilboxRolltopSmall.stl, and the SIDE.stl. The expanded version does not need the side, as the epansion piece becomes the other side.
