This spool holder was designed to be a once size fits all and will at least work up to 4kg spools.

There is a small hole in the base, designed to hold a bowden tube so that it can be used off to the side with a direct drive system.

4 x 608 bearings required and potentially a rubber mallet to join the pieces.

Update 11/10/19

I added 2 snap on friction interfaces to add a bit of resistance to the spool rotating on its own. The spool can loosen up over time due to the ease of rolling. These pieces snap onto the screwclamp and should be oriented so that the tab that touches the frame sits on the side that the spool is rotating towards

Update 1/25/2020

I added an alternate spool screw to fit tighter 608 bearings, as the previous version was designed to fit bearings with an ID slightly larger than 8mm

Update 2/27/2020

I have added a new friction interface that uses 608 bearings. The bearings ride on the screw clamp with a more controlled resistance. This helps out with large unbalanced spools that can cause slack and tangles
