Hi friends,

I don't know for you but me... I have a problem with my button cells. Many size, many uses and always the reference written for top 10 lynx eye people! Not easy to find the one I need and to spare place at the same time.

I searched a ready made object on different sites but nothing was exactly what I wanted. So I decided to make my own thing.

My functional specifications were :

  • A box (not only open cradle),
  • The name of battery on the box,
  • Pack of 10 batteries,
  • Usable with alkaline (AGxx type) or Lithium (CRxx) batteries,
  • If possible, a cradle to group boxes despite the different box sizes.

And with the help of the great Supercalifragilistic sorcerer, I made this Button Cells Holder, fondly named BCH or Bisch.

The use is easy as for a 5 years kid : choose your reference and print it.

For alkaline batteries there are many type of references, I used AG (ie AG1). There are many sites with reference compatibilities (one of my best because no ads and fast display is : http://altert.family.free.fr/pere/tcpiles.html)

For lithium, I used CR because this reference gives the size (CR2320 is 23mm diameter and 2mm width)

The same STL file contains the cradle and the cover to limit the number of files. If you need to print only one of the two pieces, you can use the "split object" function of Repetier-Host (or of your slicer).

I added the cradle for boxes. I propose many sizes. All you have to do is to measure the total width of your boxes and to choose the cradle the nearest of that size.

Of course there are many more references and you may need other sizes of box cradle or battery reference. Feel free to ask and I'll try to upload the thing you need.

Due to the small size of boxes, I tried to optilmize the printing. The inner wall thickness is 0.8mm and in rapport with the nozzle size (0.4mm for me). If you have printing problems with other nozzle sizes, contact me. If necessary, I'll make a version for another nozzle size.

Not support needed, 10% infill, nothing complicated in printing.

I hope you'll like this BCH.

Last thing. Don't be surprised to find the battery reference on the side of the cover and not on the top. It is only to allow a no support printing.

Bonjour chez vous.

I used a marker to paint the references but if you have a bicolor printer...
