This is a remix of the MPSM E3D V2 Mount GT2 Belt 40mm fan 3d touch by e36ltw with several modifications and additions.

I found that on my Monoprice Mini Select v2, the original by e36ltw had the BLTouch / 3D Touch mount too far back, which meant it fouled on the endcap for the gantry.

This remix encompasses the following key changes:

  • the BLTouch / 3D Touch mount is moved forward to avoid fouling the gantry endcap and moved vertically to achieve a better offset, while still allowing the use of the part cooling clip-on fan
  • the BLTouch / 3D Touch mount has been completely redesigned and incorporates a cable tidy
  • the mount's own connection/mount to the fan shroud has been redesigned for a neater appearance
  • two loops for cable ties have been added to the shroud to help with management and strain relief for the heater, thermistor and fan wiring

Installation

The fan shroud can be used with either USWaterRocket's original E3Dv6 / GT2 carriage or e36ltw's remix of the carriage (I use it with the USWaterRocket's design).

The BLTouch / 3D Touch should be mounted with the connector facing outwards per the photos. Given the shape of the probe's casing, this then provides sufficient room to use the clip-on part cooling fan.

You may need to swap the orientation of the heater cartridge so that the wiring runs down the left side of the carriage. I added a cable tie loop to help keep the wires out of the way so they don't get caught between the carriage and the body of the Mini when homing the X axis (see photos).

A matching cable tie loop is also on the right side to help with any wire management and strain relief on that side. With the thermistor I use, I elected to retain the wiring on the right along with the wiring for the hotend fan (per the photos).

I only had a Trianglelab's 3D Touch on hand to test this with rather than a BLTouch v3.0/3.1. Comparing the schematics between the two suggests there should be minimal difference - the BLTouch has a shorter body but longer probe deployment - so it should work with both, but I am happy to adjust based on feedback.

Using a 3D Touch, I measured the probe offset as around X=+26 and Y=+1. I have provided these as a reference point, but you should measure your own installation for accuracy.

The BLTouch / 3D Touch mount is a recreation (with modifications) of one of the BLTouch mounts from the Hero Me Gen 5 suite, so full credit to mediaman.

I have included both the Fusion 360 and .step files should others wish to modify and remix it further. Enjoy!

You will need to use supports. Be careful when removing the supports for the wire guide on the edge of the BLTouch mount - I suggest carefully using a craft knife.
